Recently, zkSync Era, a popular layer-2 blockchain, had its second network problem in just eight days. The problems stopped the production of blocks for a while, which made users and stakeholders worried.
The developers fixed the problems and now the block production is back on schedule.
Two problems with the network happened in eight days.
On December 25, 2023, zkSync Era had a problem with its network, and couldn’t make new blocks for almost five hours. The development team quickly admitted that there was a problem on social platform X. They said there was a mistake in a safety measure that is automatic. This is the second time in eight days that there has been a problem with how things are running.
The incident happened right after another interruption, which shows that the network might have some stability problems.
The zkSync Development team quickly found the main reason for the problem – a rare bug that was causing errors in how the state was being updated. Although the protocol’s calculation was correct, a small mistake in the operator’s math caused the safety protocol to activate unexpectedly. The team fixed the problem quickly and made sure the network was working properly again.
The zkSync Era network is now up and running smoothly. At 05:50 UTC, a bug in the server set off one of the network’s safety protocols. This problem needed teams to check it and now it’s fixed.
We will share a detailed report soon after investigating thoroughly. Thank you for.
The developers of zkSync tweeted on December 25, 2023.
Money is still safe even though there were some problems.
Even though there are some problems with the network, zkSync Era is still focused on making sure everything is safe and secure. The way we were protecting the network when it started has been looked at again because the network has grown up. But the development team reassured that “no money was ever in danger” during these problems.
Pudgy Penguins’ game is now available on zkSync Era.
Pudgy Penguins, a famous NFT project, has announced the first version of its new Web3 game, Pudgy World, which is based on zkSync Era.
The game will come out in early 2024, and its first version could be a big deal for the Web3 and NFT world. Pudgy Penguin owners can play the game even if they don’t know anything about blockchain technology.
