StarkWare, the company that created the Ethereum scaling solution called Starknet, has released some money that was stuck after a system upgrade last week.
On a social media website called X, StarkWare said that $550,000 worth of cryptocurrency stored in accounts that were not updated became “temporarily unreachable” after the update.
Earlier this year, all Starknet users were asked to make an important update to their account. This happened afterwards.
“Today, the upgrade is turned back on, so users can get back into their accounts right away,” the StarkWare team said in the message.
Starknet had a big update last week: 0. 121A few months ago, Starknet users were asked to make an important update to their account to get ready for this update.
When the new 0. 121 version was released, accounts that were not updated couldn’t be accessed for a short time.
StarkWare announced on August 30, 2023.
Many users were surprised when their accounts, which they hadn’t updated, suddenly couldn’t be used. Some people were upset and shared their frustration on X.
One person said that the lock-up is like losing your money from your bank account if you don’t update the software.
The user said, “Thank you for flying with StarkWare Airlines. ”
Other people laughed at the situation, and one person sarcastically asked, “Does that count as zero knowledge. ”
In July, Testnet was started.
In July, Starknet released a test version of a big new update called the Starknet Quantum Leap.
At that time, the testnet launch was the first step to bring the upgraded solution to the mainnet.
The upgrade was supposed to make transactions on the network faster. The team says it will be much better than anything else on Ethereum.
A blog post said that the speed of 220,000 Cairo steps per second on the new version was almost 10 times faster than the old version, which had a speed of 30,000 CSPS.
The final upgrade for the Starknet Quantum Leap was released on the mainnet on August 21. The team is encouraging developers to use this upgrade to build great front-end applications.
Starknet v0121 is now available for use on the Mainnet.
This completes the launch of the Starknet Mainnet Quantum Leap.
We have everything set up for you to create great front-end designs.
This version has these changes:
Mempool validation means checking if transactions in the mempool are valid.
Failed transactions are now being included.
